Keeping your wick trimmed to 1/4 inch before each burn will help ensure your candle burns clean and evenly every time.
For cotton wicks, use sharp scissors or a wick trimmer once the wax has completely cooled and discard wick clippings.
For wood wicks, simply push off the ash wood with your finger as far as it will naturally go. Discard all wick trimmings before relighting. To relight wood wicks, keep your lighter or match directed at the base of where the wick meets the wax and continue to hold until you see 1/2 of the wick ignited. This could take several attempts as wood wicks require a stronger latch to maintain a strong burn.
For a clean, even burn, allow the wax to melt to the jars edge during each burn and especially the first time.
Soy and beeswax have a memory, so this will create an even burn cycle for future use.
If the wax has spilled or leaked allow it to fully cool before cleaning.
Always rest your candle on a heat resistant surface and never leave it unattended. Avoid burning for longer than four hour increments. Discontinue use when there is 1/4 or less wax on the bottom on the jar.
